I'm leaving today for a week at Texas School held in College Station, TX. Texas School is a week-long photography school where you pick a class with one instructor for all 5 days. It's a huge event with photographers coming from all over. I loved it last year and I'm looking forward to another great week.
That being said, I have no idea what the internet situation will be for the week. So I don't know how responsive I'll be. If you need anything, give me a call (832) 439-2679 and I'll call you back during a break.

Nicole and Aaron, part 3
The last part of Nicole and Aaron's wedding day!
As the bridal party entered the reception after being announced, they did a fancy little move just to spice it up a little bit. So fun!

I love this cake.............!
....................for obvious reasons! hehehehe
Oh, the obsesssion. Seriously!
I love catching moments like this..........

(Still obsessed with the flowers, good grief!)

Nicole and Aaron, part 2
And the obsession continues.......
Goofy guys.
The proud father.
And the proud mother.
I love that I caught this shot just as the ceremony is about to start - the best man leaning over to say something to the groom. What did he tell him? Last minute advice? A funny joke? Heart-felt sentiment? We shall never know.
Not sure if you can see what's going on, so let me fill you in: the officiant is praying, and Aaron is stealing a glance.

I thought this was such a sweet moment shared between the two sisters.

What makes this picture for me is the American flag. I can't explain it.
Pay no attention to the lady behind the white dress!!
The final part to come.......

Nicole and Aaron, part 1
It was a perfect day in April! Absolutely beautiful weather and a lovely group of people. Both the wedding and reception took place at the Northwest Conference Center in Cypress which made for an easier day (for us!) Isn't Nicole beautiful?
Warning: I had a slight obsession with the flowers........
The first picture of the bouquet - don't worry, there are more to come.

The bride is doing a last minute touch-up on her maid of honor, her sister.

This is Nicole's little sister. She was so cute and so involved in everything going on.

A few random things
Ok, so a few of you made some guesses as to what changes I made to my layout. Sorry, no, I've been using frames and my logo on all images (except for when I'm shooting for someone else.)
I changed the heading so now it's just my logo, I changed the width of the text body and such, and just other changes like that. Layout and formatting.
Does anyone know how to work with HTML code? I just have a quick question, nothing complicated.
So, this weekend, a very close friend of mine called to tell me that he'd been in an accident that could have ended very tragically. But, by the grace of God, he's ok and says that it was truly a miracle that he's alive.
I had my own little revelation this weekend about humanity - nothing life threatening.
At the same time, we feel like God is speaking to us. He's whispering to me, and yelling at my friend. Do we hear God speaking to us each day? Are we listening? Or does he need to yell at us to get our attention?

Kris's headshots
One of the interesting things about what I do is that I get to meet different people and I get to learn about them and about what they do.
I had the opportunity to shoot some headshots for Kris and I came to realize what a talented pianist he is. He is the product of a lifetime of studying, practicing, composing, and playing piano.
From the beginning, I knew what Kris was looking for in terms of headshots since he'd told me that he was needing shots for promotional material and such. So I knew I needed to do some simple shots without fancy backgrounds and that's what we started off with. The beginning of any session is usually the warm-up time, both for the 'model' and for myself. So I always start off with something simple. The 'model' will eventually start to feel less uncomfortable in front of the camera (hopefully!) and they'll also start to trust me more (hopefully!) I was thankful that Kris had told me at the beginning that he trusted whatever I did since he'd seen my work on my website. That means so much to me because then I feel free to just do whatever comes to me, rather than trying to fit into a box. Kris, thanks so much for telling me that! So, you'll see a variety, from simple, to in-between, to more funky and moody.
Without a time constraint, we were able to shoot several different things and not feel rushed. But amazingly enough, we stayed within a 2 block radius for three hours! After the session, Kris generously gave me a copy of each of his CDs with recordings a live performance, and some original work. WOW! I listened to the two of them for almost a week straight in the car. Check them out -they're available on his website.
Kris, thanks for trusting me and I hope you enjoy them.
To see the rest of the images, go to my website http://www.karellephotography.com/ and click on 'Digital Studio' on the far right. From there, follow the instructions and look for Kris Becker's headshots. You'll see the images that are on my blog and the rest of the images.
