.....of town. I'm leaving very, very early tomorrow morning for a missions trip to Barranquilla Colombia. I'll be gone for a week and will very limited, if any, internet access.
At this very moment, I'm frantically trying to finish packing, shutting everything down, and replying to every last email that has come my way in the past few days.
To see the pictures from last year's trip, go to my website http://www.karellephotography.com/ and click on 'Digital Studio' on the far right. From there, follow the instructions and look for Barranquilla Colomba 2008 (or something like that).

Jessica and John's engagement session ~ The Woodlands, Texas
And here's another session that was moved around because of the storm. But we were finally able to pick a day and a time. Then Jessica ended up with an injured knee, but I'm so thankful that she was a great sport and was willing to do anything I said, short of jumping.
Jessica and John, you guys were great and fun to work with. I'm so glad I caught a few of John's smiles. You guys look so natural and so happy together, and the pictures turned out great!
I'd also like to thank Ava for her assistance in this photo shoot - thanks for helping out!

Ronna and Robert's Engagement Session ~ The Woodlands, Texas
Originally, we had talked about doing this session at Galveston and I was really looking forward to those plans. But lo and behold, we had to make other arrangements. We kicked around several ideas and finally decided to head up to The Woodlands. I had fun trying several different things and I was so thankful that they were giving me the time to drive them around to several locations, including some very odd ones.
Ronna and Robert, thanks so much for your trust and your willingness to go with it. I think they turned out beautiful!

Ok, raise your hand if you like tall grass. Ugly people, put your hands down. Ha, I thought so.

Love it!!

Thankfully the sun and the weather were cooperating with us the entire afternoon. Yea!

*sigh* I love flare.
I think this one of my absolute favorite ones.

Schubring Family Part 2
Here are the last few from the rest of the session I did with the Schubring family. They brought a change of clothes and they were smokin'! And little Schubring's outfit was the most adorable thing I've seen!
Some of you might remember a goal that I set out to accomplish in 2008, which was to take a picture with whoever I'm photographing in each session. I started the year off weak, then I started remembering to do it more, then I just totally forgot for a while. Then I remembered again recently and I did accomplish it during this session. But then I forgot again. I'm not giving up yet! Maybe 2009 will be better. And maybe I could one day look half as good as these folks did during their session *sigh*

Weeee!!!
For real, this little guy is a real man's man. He liked the train, the wheels, and the train tracks and was less interested in walking down the tracks while flying.
Yea, the end!

Schubring Family Part 1
The Schubrings calls me based on a referral from another client of mine (thanks guys!!) and we immediately set up a session for them and discussed what they were looking for in terms of locations and backgrounds. We picked a pretty neat place out in Tomball and then just hoped that things would work out with Little Schubring since he's teething right now (yuck!)
They brought their "A" game! Seriously, they were prepared with all sort of things for the little one, including food, a sippy cup, pacifier, and toys of all kinds. And boy, did we use it all! But he's a little sweetheart, and so cute, as I'm sure you'll agree.
We started off the session around a train cab and we couldn't peel the little one away from it! He loved it so much and just kept going back time and again.

He's walking all on his own! Mr. Independent.
Has he gone to modeling classes?!? He walked (or crawled) himself over to this wall and then just posed perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better little model. And seriously, how cute are those shoes?
The cute happy little family!
He was showing off his modeling skills. No, really, I actually don't remember what he was doing but it looks funny.

Mama and her son!
Whatever dad was doing really brought out his smile. How could you not smile seeing this picture?
As a sidenote, half the fun in photographing small children is watching what the parents do to get their child to smile :)

Chrissy and Jason's wedding Day Part 5
Finally, the last part!! Chrissy and Jason gave us (Jordan and me) a few minutes during the reception for some shots of just two of them. And I'm so glad!
Chrissy and Jason: Thanks SOOOOO much for choosing me for your day! I had a blast and you two were so great to work with. And fun and chill and beautiful and (insert any great adjective here.) You had a beautiful day!
To see the rest of the images, go to my website http://www.karellephotography.com/ and click on 'Digital Studio' on the far right. From there, follow the instructions and look for Chrissy and Jason's wedding day. You'll see the images that are on my blog and the rest of the images.
Lovely!

The story here is that Jason took off his jacket and then got on all fours to get the garter. It surprised Chrissy and she was laughing so hard that she was about to fall off her chair.
Then, during the garter toss, a glass of beer was dropped on the floor, which riled the guys up. Poor Chrissy, I wonder what she's thinking at this moment!

A mom and daughter dance.

And they're off!
