Every photographer needs a good pictures of themselves so we depend on our friends to help us out in that department. After an informal meet up with Ashley and Matthew, we spent a little time shooting each other and trying out new things and learning from each other.

Katie and Kyle's wedding day
Katie and Kyle picked this cute little white chapel to get married at and they had a wonderful time with friends and family. Their flower girl was the funniest and most interesting flower girl I've ever come across. She was fun to just listen to.
The many faces of Katie.

Schubring Family Part 2
Here are the last few from the rest of the session I did with the Schubring family. They brought a change of clothes and they were smokin'! And little Schubring's outfit was the most adorable thing I've seen!
Some of you might remember a goal that I set out to accomplish in 2008, which was to take a picture with whoever I'm photographing in each session. I started the year off weak, then I started remembering to do it more, then I just totally forgot for a while. Then I remembered again recently and I did accomplish it during this session. But then I forgot again. I'm not giving up yet! Maybe 2009 will be better. And maybe I could one day look half as good as these folks did during their session *sigh*
To see the rest of the images, go to my website http://www.karellephotography.com/ and click on 'Digital Studio' on the far right. From there, follow the instructions and look for Schubring Family Session. You'll see the images that are on my blog and the rest of the images.

Weeee!!!
For real, this little guy is a real man's man. He liked the train, the wheels, and the train tracks and was less interested in walking down the tracks while flying.
Yea, the end!

Schubring Family Part 1
The Schubrings calls me based on a referral from another client of mine (thanks guys!!) and we immediately set up a session for them and discussed what they were looking for in terms of locations and backgrounds. We picked a pretty neat place out in Tomball and then just hoped that things would work out with Little Schubring since he's teething right now (yuck!)
They brought their "A" game! Seriously, they were prepared with all sort of things for the little one, including food, a sippy cup, pacifier, and toys of all kinds. And boy, did we use it all! But he's a little sweetheart, and so cute, as I'm sure you'll agree.
We started off the session around a train cab and we couldn't peel the little one away from it! He loved it so much and just kept going back time and again.

He's walking all on his own! Mr. Independent.
Has he gone to modeling classes?!? He walked (or crawled) himself over to this wall and then just posed perfectly. I couldn't have asked for a better little model. And seriously, how cute are those shoes?
The cute happy little family!
He was showing off his modeling skills. No, really, I actually don't remember what he was doing but it looks funny.

Mama and her son!
Whatever dad was doing really brought out his smile. How could you not smile seeing this picture?
As a sidenote, half the fun in photographing small children is watching what the parents do to get their child to smile :)

Emily and Raul
A few months ago, I did a session with Emily and Raul and they were so great to work with!! We spent some time at this abandoned building and they were up for anything, and also so encouraging and patient the whole time. Thanks again for being so great to work with!
They're so sweet to each other!
Doesn't she have beautiful eyes?
And a great smile!

Raul is a stud - he's part model and part light guy. He was holding the flash with his other hand.

These next two may be my two favorites from the day.

The Powers family
First off, I want to thank the Powers family for being such great sports during their portrait session. Yes, it was hot!! But we pushed ahead and got some great shots. The little ones are so cute!!! Just look and I'm sure you'll agree.

What a cutie!!

Now, I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, I would say he's an Aggie since he's sporting the upside down longhorn hand symbol. Whoop!
All eyes are on this little girlie.

Ride 'em cowboy! This was actually his idea and I like how it turned out.
Grandma's little ones, and less-than-little ones.

Children left to their own devices............you never know what you'll get!

We always have to take a silly picture, of course.

Grandma and her babies - what a great looking group!

All tuckered out - it was a long afternoon for this little guy.

Two little cuties!

Mama and her babies.
