I'll be the first to admit that I'm not a sports photographer. I've only photographed a game of flag football and now a volleyball game. At first, it doesn't seem like a difficult task, but now I know why some people make it into Sport Illustrated and others don't. You really have to know what the good angles are, and where the action will be. You can't stop watching for a second and you have to be looking everywhere. There's always something going on. And the ball may not always be in the shot, but you still have to somehow suggest that you're at a volleyball game. So, just like the flag football game, I learned a thing or two over the course of the hour. And I also learned that I need to hold the camera more steady. These are just a few of the shots from that night, and I think the rest may end up on the Impact website.
