A beautiful ceremony was held at St. Anthony of Padua catholic church and Brenda and Mike were surrounded by friends and family. After the ceremony, the guests headed over to the Marriott Waterway in the Woodlands and the party began after dinner. The room was beautiful and there were so many nice details, down to the sorbet that was served before the main meal. The music ranged from oldies to some hip hop to 'Thriller.' And yes, they were doing the 'Thriller' routine!! And I think I may have seen the 'robot' in there somewhere, too.

Additions to the website
I've added a few things to the website this week:
-a third song, 'Lullaby' by Starsailor, one of my absolute favorite bands
-a picture under 'Blushing Bride'
-pictures under 'The Big Day'
-pictures under 'Details'
-pictures under 'Little Ones'
I still have several things to modify or add to my website, but it will take time.

checking off my to-do list
It's so important to be able to have small accomplishments each day. I feel like I actually achieve something. Today, I was able to set up Outlook and my signature. Finally, I can cross that off. There are plenty of other things still left on the list, but I think it's important to acknowledge little accomplishments like that.

The Collins Family
I love when kids like saying 'Cheese!' And Emmett did a great job of saying 'cheese!' The Collins family was so easy going and laid back and that made for a great casual session.

Monday thoughts, a little late
Ok, so I'm a little bit late in my Monday thoughts.
It was a busy weekend and it hasn't slowed down yet.
-I shot a wedding on Saturday for Brenda and Mike up in the Woodlands with the assistance of Jordan and Stephanie.
-Then on Sunday after church, I went to the Greek Festival with my friend Susan and we had a great afternoon.
-On Monday, I drove to Austin and back for a family portrait session.
-Then things went badly on Tuesday and my family had to put my dog to sleep. They found a tumor in her pancreas and she'd also been dealing with pancreatitis. She lived over fifteen years and was loved by many. It was a long day for all of us.
This week I've been watching 'Ocean's 12' and Season Three of 'Everybody Loves Raymond.' And I've been listening to Robbie Seay, Shakira, and my ipod.

Greek Festival
Opa!!!
I love the greek language, I love greek food, I love the greek culture, so I have to go to the Greek Festival of Houston.
A few weeks ago, my friend Susan uttered the most unbelievable words: "I don't like Greek food."
My jaw dropped.
I decided to personally re-introduce her to Greek food and make an afternoon out of it.
By the end of it, I don't think I could have stopped her from trying all the food.
My job here is done.
You can't tell how hot it is, but it's really hot around this souvlaki grill. I almost didn't want to get too close with my camera.
Susan liked the food so much that we went back to take pictures of food posters so she can look up a recipe.
We toured the inside of the Greek church.

While we were inside the church, it started to pour down rain. So the sky was kind of dreary, but suddenly the sun started to appear.
We stayed and watched the dances for a while. In the middle of all this, I ran into a fellow traveler from the Greece/Turkey trip in 2002.

Hernandez Maternity Session
It's always a fun challenge for me to shoot portraits in someone's home. It gives me few minutes after I show up to 'come up with something.' And that's what we did this past week.
Albane and Alex were so very sweet and I enjoyed knowing more about them and about their stories as we shot for an hour. Albane is due very soon and I look forward to meeting the baby, but it's still undetermined whether it's a boy or a girl yet. Very exciting!
