Wow, He's amazing!

Yes, I'm changing it up a little bit. Why? Because I can......

-I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I had high hopes, despite all the negative comments I'd heard. And they were right. Why did it have to go in this direction? I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I just didn't feel like it kept the true spirit of the Indian Jones series. I just kept shaking my head saying, 'No, they just can't be doing this,' hoping that somehow that would pause the movie and start it over and change the course of events - just for me. Didn't work.

-I've been listening to Pandora a lot lately. If you don't know what that is, check it out at Pandora.com You can create your own stations by starting off with a band you like and then it will continuously play songs that are in the same vein as that group. It's a pretty neat thing.

Catching the Weaver fever!

Ok, I know that's a cheesy title, but I didn't make it up.

Meet Levi Weaver.

Yes, you've heard him mentioned before because he has graciously let me use his song on my website (go take a listen real quick) He's on tour right now so I wanted to make sure to catch him when he came to Houston. Aside from being a fan and a loyal supporter and a avid concert-goer and (insert reason here), I also wanted to go and shoot more low-light situations since I often find myself in such a situation. I'm working on steadiness and lighting and other highly technical stuff that is just waaaay too complicated to even touch upon in a blog (whatever!)

The concert was great, of course, because most of the people there were fans and/or friends so Levi played any song that was requested. He also included stories with each song. I always like when artists tell the story behind the song, either in concert or an interview or wherever. I like to know how the concept developed into the song. Their narration really helps me out because I have to refrain from questioning the artist to death. Inquiring minds want to know, sorry.

And for those of you that are going to go buy the cd (Go to CD Baby now!), there is a song on the first one with my name it. No, it's not about me (thank goodness) and it's generally not a song that you would want written about you. But, as I told Levi, I would much rather have this song than the other hideous Michael Jackson song from the 80's. Don't even hum the tune where I can hear you.

I was just playing around with some presentation ideas. Nothing fancy.

Wednesday Chit Chat

Ok, so I didn't have Monday thoughts these week, and then I started wondering - who cares? So, let's have our weekly chit chat session today, Wednesday.

I feel like talking about music, as is often the case. I was driving home tonight after a meeting with Mike and Amanda (hi!) and I heard a new version of "Zombie", originally by the Cranberries. I didn't figure out who sings this new version, but I started thinking about the Cranberries again. I still have two of their CDs and I still really like them. Their songs are on my itunes playlist, too. There was something unique about her voice and the music they made. No matter what anyone says, they rocked.

P.O.D.'s new album is out, yesterday!!! Ya-hoo!! Ok, does anyone else care, or am I alone here? I've always been a fan of theirs and I'm especially excited about this new album because Marcos is back. There's just a magic to the mix when Marcos is in the group, so I really hope this album lives up to the hype. And you can bet I'll be seeing them in concert when they come.

I've been on call today and yesterday for the Houston Medical Center part of an organization called Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. To explain what the organization is about, I found this on their website:

Thankfully, I haven't had a call in these two days, which is always a good thing. I'm happy to be able to use my services to help others and I hope that when I do get a call, I'll be able to do my absolute best for the grieving parents.

For whatever reason, sometimes I get stuck on the same CD or playlist when I start listening to it. This past week, I'm stuck on this playlist, my most recently purchased itunes. There's a little of everything: pop, country, electronic, etc.
