I'm back on schedule! Yes, power was restored late Saturday night so I'm very excited about it.

I realized that I'm still talking about it and most people reading this may have mentally moved on. The thing is that we in Houston haven't really moved on yet since we're still affected by it, whether at home or work. We either still don't have electricity, or we know someone who doesn't, or we don't have electricity at work, or things in life are still modified because of the storm. I went to the grocery store last night and couldn't buy anything in the frozen section (not that I was trying to, but if I wanted to, I couldn't.) All the frozen aisles were blocked off and empty. It's just things like that that show us that we're not back to normalacy, even if we have electricity, water, and no flooding.



Anywho.



Two movies I've watched lately: Mama Mia, and P.S. I Love You.



I've never seen Mama Mia in any capacity (movie, show, Las Vegas show, etc.) so I didn't really know what to expect. I liked it enough, but maybe not enough to buy the DVD. I like musicals, don't get me wrong, but there were times where I wish she would have just said it rather than sang it. Oh well.



P.S. I Love You was so sad!! And had something of a surprise ending. I liked it, and I might consider getting the DVD, not sure yet. I think Hilary Swank did well with her character and Lisa Kudrow was hilarious.



Interestingly, these two movies have something in common, albeit cliche. The main female character is dealing with something and she has two friends to help her along the way. And one of them is funny and kind of into herself. Ok, I don't feel like getting too analytical about the movies or comparisons, so that's the end of that.

I found this video when it was sent to me or something - can't remember now. It's a korean baby singing 'Hey Jude' and I just think it's so funny watching him singing intently into the mic and trying to play the guitar during the bridge (is that right?)

You know how some businesses ask you 'How did you hear about us?' And some of the options include 'Friend', 'online search', etc. Well, I think a new option should be 'my GPS.' I had to get an oil change today (and absolutely no later because I was 500+ miles over) and since I was still housesitting at my friends' house, I wasn't familiar with the area. So I looked for an automative service on my GPS and found one. Not the best option I could have found, but it worked nonetheless.

What is Blu-Ray? I hear about it and I know they're expensive but what is it exactly? Can I watch them on any DVD player? Or special Blu-Ray DVD players? Any answers?

Lately I've seen a few commercials that I've either really liked or think are just not so great. For instance, I really don't like the Sonic commercials. I don't get them, they seem kind of lame to me. There's one that I thought was so funny, but I can't remember what it was. I'll try to remember.....

I've been to the movies twice in the past week. I finally saw the new Chronicles of Narnia, which I thought was so great. It was so neat to see them back in Narnia and to see how things would turn out when you feel like there weren't any options. I'm speaking vaguely because I don't want to ruin the ending. The other movie I saw was the new Batman movie. Ok, wow. Yes, Heath Ledger did an amazing job in this movie. I can't really recall any other movies I've seen by him, but he did great in this one. I kept being surprised by each turn of events. Again, I don't want to give anything away, but I will give it two thumbs up.

I waited until today because today is the day the Coldplay album drops!! So excited. I'm waiting for my copy in the mail.

This weekend, the discussion was about whether solo artists can be successful after leaving a group that has been successful. They didn't necessarily have to quit the group, but they did venture out on a solo project.

This was an interesting question to me because I like thinking about this kind of thing. So I came up with a few examples:

Yes, I'm changing it up a little bit. Why? Because I can......

-I went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. I had high hopes, despite all the negative comments I'd heard. And they were right. Why did it have to go in this direction? I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet, but I just didn't feel like it kept the true spirit of the Indian Jones series. I just kept shaking my head saying, 'No, they just can't be doing this,' hoping that somehow that would pause the movie and start it over and change the course of events - just for me. Didn't work.

-I've been listening to Pandora a lot lately. If you don't know what that is, check it out at Pandora.com You can create your own stations by starting off with a band you like and then it will continuously play songs that are in the same vein as that group. It's a pretty neat thing.
