Julie and John's engagement session

I'll take any chance I can get to take a trip to College Station - WHOOP!

Julie and John wanted to have their engagement session up at A&M because that's where they met and it was meaningful and personal to them. So we started off on campus and walked around the MSC area, the Academic Building, and the YMCA building. Then, like any maroon-bleeding Aggies would do, we headed over to Northgate and finished off the session there.

Ok, let's be real here: I definitely enjoyed the session as a I always do, but my favorite part was after the session. We headed over to Layne's for a bite before heading back to Houston. Layne's, people!! Love Layne's. Oh, but you already know that.

Thanks guys for taking me back to the motherland! I'm looking forward to the bridal session and the wedding!

My Ode to Layne's

Well, it's actually not an 'ode, ' per se, since it's not written. But more of a visual tribute.
This is one of my most favoritest establishments in College Station (and yes, I'm aware of the poor grammar in that sentence.) Layne's is a simple stand-alone bldg. Kind of a hole-in-the-wall, but without a wall for there to be a hole in..........
They only serve one thing: chicken fingers. And they have the bestest sauce ever! (Again with the poor grammar, I'm aware.) So when I was there last month for Texas School, I had to stop by on my way out. The wall with all the postings has changed since I was there so it's fun to sit and read what people have written. And the comic strip is CLASSIC! Seriously, that's what it's like. You wait a while for the food in the drive-in......even though everyone is getting the exact same thing!






Yum, yum, yum!! This is one of the few fried things I eat.


I have no idea what's in the secret sauce, but I don't care.
